Mind Scape, Lutfiyah Nanhuck's first solo exhibition

I'm happy to end this writing hiatus with this magnificent art exhibition named Mind Scape. It was such an escape that it let some light within, like a guest that barges from nowhere. As I set foot in this little cosy place I was welcomed by the artist herself, Lutfiyah Nanhuck. She was the sweetest.

Lutfiyah Nanhuck couldn't better name her first solo art exhibition. Mind Scape resumes my whole experience. I spaced out into a dimension, full of colours that could blind you with its myriad of tints - to subtly carve their way into your grey cells.

It felt like riding on waves where emotions and colours collide.

2. ALCHEMY

The depth and play of colours - a mutual harmony embedded on each canvas. If you lend your ears a little bit closer to her artwork, you can hear inaudible sounds from afar- it's the silence. It's the mindfulness you feel with each breath.

11. GATEWAY

18. AUSTERE and 19. EVERGLADE

The light that struck from above the ceiling highlighted each brush stroke from its tiniest to the most obvious ones.

I would describe my visit as a volcano in eruption where the lava was all the vivid colours splashed on the canvas. They turned molten with each glance, with each imagery I could depict in my frivolous mind. After a long time, the little heart of mine was heated by the artist's blazing creativity. Mind Scape felt like a cruise - I didn't want to get off, to head back home.

A peak, at the close ups!

1. FOOL'S PARADISE

I recently had a guest on my podcast, she said that humanity is like a rainbow and that each person has a colour.

I can now portray faces on each of her canvases as I surf through these endless pictures. The ones I posted don't do justice to how beautiful her art is but I hope it brings you into a space where you can travel from here to elsewhere to Mind Scape.

3. RAVENS

She was born to create and each of her creations is an escape.

This escapism, adds cracks in our monotonous life to let light strike its vivid shades. Art shows are my gateway as they transcend the meaning of life. It stirs my perception and it's like am reborn again - only to run to the daylight. I freeze my feelings and memories by stitching together these art reflections. Sit down and articulate your feelings as well, because they can be erased with time or get lost in translation.

FOOL'S PARADISE. INTREPID. ALCHEMY. IDEA. RAVENS. VITAL. ARISE. GATEWAY. GODSPEED. CROSSROADS. REVERIE. MAKTUB. SHIFT. QUIESENCE. IDYLL. MURMUR. BREATH.AUSTERE. EVERGLADE.SPIRIT. FINITE. are the 21 artworks that adds h(art)beats to our own existence.

If they paint, I see.

12. CROSSROADS

10. VITAL

I've got my eyes on the Mauritian artists who dare to share their creations. So, much vulnerability sweats from their creations. But, such a blessing for us to witness. Sharing their work around is your way to dwell in art while creating a ripple effect for many to see.

It's the underlying mystery that fuels my creativity, It's a shot of dopamine, it's the untold before and after stories, It's simply the mystery of art...

9. IDEA

8. INTREPID
Watch art like you look at the stars, not like you're playing video games. Your eyes and soul should be one. Looking at art with the eyes of a child is a different kind of experience.

19. EVERGLADE - 20. SPIRIT - 21. FINITE

On this note am muting my voice, from here on to let you in on this journey, alone. Enjoy!

5. GODSPEED

16. MURMUR

14. QUIESCENCE

7. SHIFT

4. ARISE

It was truly a dreamy Saturday...

Erase the maybe next time. You still have time to pause, reflect and revel in this art expo. It's on show till the 9th of August at The Caudan Arts Center. I was enchanted to meet you Lutfiyah Nanhuck. I spent "forever" wandering across your artwork, and am glad I did. It's just the beginning! Her work doesn't end with this show, watch out for more here! We will definitely hear from her again.
